TONIC
I have been a musician my whole life...
and always will be
This is an app that came out of necessity and I made it to use myself when practising piano.
I can’t really explain it but fusing together both of my passions was very easy and this app almost fell out of figma.
The aim of this app is simplicity & accessibility.
There is a strong theme of duality within the colour scheme, I picked the colours based off of how the different keys feel to me. The main UI is a simple as can be, my intention with this app is to be able to play piano and operate simultaneously.
How to navigate the UI
As with any language, music theory has it’s nuances.
In the situation that you have to use a key that sounds the same but can be notated differently (enharmonic)
I have included a toggle switch. These are the only pages on the app that have their own colour styles.
Next steps
The next feature I plan to implement in the app is an interactive Circle of fifths. The page loads with no text and is animated to stagger in. Then the text lowers in opacity with an inside shadow. The question mark is left out of this to become the call to action for help to navigate The Circle of fifths.
