Biffa are a waste management company serving 95% of the UK.

During my internship at Floursh Direct Marketing I engaged with live client briefs, taking part in concept and idealisation meetings to create visual storyboards from the copy provided.

In my first draft I followed the story of the coin.

Using it as the main focal point of the story to

convey the ideas of overspending in waste management.

I recieved positive feedback from the Senior Designer and Copywriters on my use of narrative and visual language but it could have been more concise.

After some revision of the copy I managed to distill my ideas into a quicker and more visually appealing storyboard. I created the outline of a Biffa bin as a vector graphic and was able to manipulate it to tell my story.

This amended version of the story was met with positive feedback and influenced the overall story boarding process that was presented to the client.

After feedback from Flourish with my use of the bin lid pin ball imagery, I had an idea.

Using the bin lid pinball idea I created a landing page overlay involving graphic assets from previous marketing campaigns. This then led me to recreate my story board involving elements of retro games. The imagery supported the ‘Switch to save’ narrative and changes the angle of the product being sold into more of a game/challenge.

My final version of the story board starts with references to Pacman, Mario Super Bros and finally the arcade classic Pinball.

This is a very out of the box idea and recieved positive but my constructive feedback was where it’s fun but it does miss the mark on the target audience and the clients needs.
